Mervyn Peake
Mervyn Peake is an artist who I am very interested in, the main reason for this being his use of material and paper. The paper is interesting to me because he uses tanned toned paper, doing this allows you to be able to add an equal amount of shading to highlights. This means that when you are drawing on the paper it can hive you the allusion o the piece coming to life and having a more depth understanding on dimensions of a piece. The other reason I like Mervyn Peakes work is because of his uses of different materials, the media I have seen in the pieces I have look at consist of watercolour, graphite and ink used with a dip pen or brush.
